The submission deadline for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s (FinCEN) Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report required under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) has been put on hold. Again.

Initially, the deadline to file the BOI report was January 1, 2025. That deadline was extended to January 13, 2025, following litigation and the overturning of a preliminary injunction. However, on December 26, 2024, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals essentially reinstated the preliminary injunction. Therefore, enforcement of the BOI reporting requirements of the CTA is currently suspended pending further proceedings. New filing deadlines announced by FinCEN are no longer applicable now. It remains unclear if, or when, a new final BOI reporting deadline will be established.
